Latin Jazz Night at Ventnor Arts Club

Well-known vocalist Loren Thorn and pianist husband Jim Thorn are bringing their latin jazz project to Ventnor Arts Club. The full lineup includes Jon Thorne (bass), Joe Thompson (trombone and guitar) and Ken Black (percussion). This is an evening of bossa nova and sambas by composers such as Jobim, and latin arrangements of jazz standards. There are some calypso and afro-american tunes thrown in too. The versatility of the band is typified by the multi-talented Joe Thompson who alternates between guitar and trombone, and vocalist Loren adds some numbers in Portuguese.
